NaNoWriMo Update: Day 21/Week 3 Recap

Most people say that Week 3 is the most difficult week of NaNoWriMo, but I feel that Week 2 was worse for me. Week 3 started off steady, and the middle section held a high-note as I reached the 50,000 word mark. The last two days of writing have been a bit more difficult, because I really want to be done with my manuscript like so many other writers are starting to be. However, I know that I can and WILL finish — it’s only a matter of time and hard work. What about you all? How did your Week 3 go?

Today’s Word Count2,619

Week 3 Word Count: 19,226

Total Word Count: 54,791

Estimated Writing Time: 1.25 hours

Feeling: On the edge of my seat

Motivation: Keeping up my momentum and staying dedicated to my writing even though my NaNoWriMo challenge has technically ended.

Inspiration: I watched Frozen for the first time tonight, and I loved the strong female characters within it. I’m hoping my protagonist will be admired for some of the same qualities these sisters had. (P.S. I can see what the fuss is about.)

Biggest Triumph: Staying up late to put in my hour (and a bit) of writing.

Biggest Setback: Taking a large chunk of my night to watch Frozen.

Helpful Insights: Trust me — keep writing. I finally hit the big one tonight. You know what I’m talking about — that big plot point where you are left standing on top of the mountain, breathing in that fresh snowy air and just waiting to slide down the summit to the bottom. And I’m telling you, it feels fantastic. Trust me, you want to get here. So keep pushing through. You can get to your own big moment, see the world from your mountaintop, and know the way down is a simple bobsled ride. Even better? You DESERVE it. So get to writing and make it happen!
